We hardly need reminding that winter is coming, but the treat of November and December coming in is the opportunity to wrap our feet in some lovely boots. I’ve already expressed my love of Chelsea boots, but with so many other styles to choose from I thought it was worth talking about the best of the rest.
So here’s my best-boots for under £100.
Antarctic – £65 at ASOS: Luscious shearling wedge booties from ASOS. How to wear: I’d like to see these with this Vero Moda navaho print dress (£25, ASOS), some chunky tights like these from Next (£10) and a knitted gilet or waistcoat like this one from H&M (£29.99) Super cosy, super cute.
Riding boots – £90 at River Island: I love the colour and the buckle detail on these lovely riding boots from River Island. They are also available in brown and tan. The buckle on these babies toughens them up a bit, so I think we need to rock an edgy look to make the most of these. How to wear: Nothing says rock and roll like a leopard print, and it’s everywhere right now. I like the colour on this funky shift dress – at Topshop for £46. Team it up with a biker jacket, like this badboy, £58 also at Topshop. Confident girls might like to do some pattern-clashing by teaming with this tartan scarf – £16 in the men’s department at ASOS. Either that or play it down with some coin chains, like these – a bargainous £5 at DP.
Arrow – £68 at Topshop: I have had my eye on these babies for a long time. At £68, they aren’t cheap for a pair of ankle boots, but there are similar alternatives out there in the likes of River Island and Miss Selfridge. How to wear: Become quite the young thing at the pony club by tucking some over-dyed super skinnies like Leigh from Topshop (£38) into a slouched knee sock – £10 from Topshop. Crank up the posh totty-ness with an arran or cable knit jumper like this one, £25.99 from Zara (available in many colours) and a nice tweedie jacket like this sweet piece of action £34.99 at H&M. Tie a scarf in your hair to modernise like this bargainous £2 spotty lovely from ASOS.
The best of the rest
